Jen & Yvonne are the driving force behind this beautiful project, committed to making people feel welcome in Germany. As the project gained momentum, they decided to expand into merchandise sales with a fresh new look to match. I am proud to say that I played a part in making that happen.

I made significant contributions by revamping their color palette and bridging the gap between their mission and brand representation. Specifically, I worked on the Simple Germany Online Shop, where I helped with the design and layout.
SG Branding
After researching, we identified some important keywords for the brand to embody. These included reliability with fun, playfulness, a focus on community, and openness. I provided ideas aligned with the brand's mission and target audience while allowing room for future improvements.
Stickers
With this project, my collaboration with the amazing Simple Germany duo started to take shape. Their main goal was to give a possibly serious situation for Internationals living in Germany a fun outlook. Some examples of these situations could be: waiting for an important letter through snail mail, going to essential appointments, and also for the more integrated bunch, something that represented that feeling when you feel fully integrated into the German culture, or at least in some way.
That's how a series of stickers were born. I created fun illustrations for their ideas.

Smoothler
"Smoothler" is a word used to identify a community of settlers in a new country, and it is a new word that we, as foreigners, can embrace instead of using "Expat." The latter term sometimes carries a negative connotation. Simple Germany aims to provide a better word that reflects the meaning of a community of settlers in a new country.
Deutsche Citizenship
It is well-known that many in Germany like to use Birkenstock with socks and don't care what others think. This sticker is for those who feel they made it in Germany. It is a sweet way of saying, "I understand the culture and feel like I belong."
Simple Germany Sticker
I suggested the Simple Germany sticker as a bonus for the community members supporting the project. I used the new SG color scheme to make the logo more eye-catching and to introduce the new look.
Waiting for the Ausländerbehörde
As a Smoothler, you will experience the Immigration Office at different stages of your life in Germany. However, navigating the German bureaucracy can be daunting for some. The intention was to poke fun at the time-consuming process of getting anything done, including scheduling appointments, waiting for responses, and everything in between when dealing with the Immigration Office.

I also recently helped celebrate their latest milestone for their YouTube channel by designing and illustrating a coffee mug.
Currently, we are working on implementing these changes globally and continuously exploring new avenues of ideas.
I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this fantastic project and to be part of the Smoothler community. More projects are in progress, and I look forward to many more!
